Welcome back to Calix Sustainable aquaculture series.

We hope you enjoyed our previous episodes, and it is great to have you back for more!

In this Series, we explore different aspects of aquaculture and define key characteristics of a more sustainable approach to aquaculture.

Sustainable aquaculture IS possible, with the RIGHT mindset, and INNOVATIVE technologies.

Global production of fish and seafood has quadrupled over the past 50 years. Not only has the world population more than doubled over this period, the average person now eats almost twice as much seafood as half a century ago. One innovation has helped to alleviate some of the pressures on wild fish catch: aquaculture, the practice of fish and seafood farming.

But large-scale aquaculture can have significant environmental consequences.

Among many seafood-related environmental issues, two categories stand out: the industry’s water footprint, and pollution caused by aquaculture and processing.

Episode 5: Seafood Processing

In this 5th episode, we will be looking at Seafood Processing.

Introducing ACTI-Mag, an innovative and environmentally friendly solution for industrial wastewater treatment. Calix ACTI-Mag can reduce operating costs of anaerobic systems, and provide a significant economic boost for seafood processing plants, with no compromise to the environment.
