We are pleased to share that Leilac, a subsidiary of Calix, was invited to present at the 2025 International Carbon Emissions Reduction Forum of the Building Materials Industry, held on 23 July 2025 in Beijing.
Hosted by the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF) and the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), the event gathered international experts on policy, finance, and industrial technology, alongside some of the world’s largest cement producers and research bodies.
CBMF President Yan Xiaofeng opened the forum with a clear message:
“The Chinese cement industry has already achieved its carbon peak as scheduled and is now moving steadily toward carbon neutrality… The global trend toward green and low-carbon transformation is irreversible.”
The agenda featured expert contributions from UNIDO, GCCA, ECRA, VDZ and others, highlighting:
- China’s participation in the national carbon trading market
- Cement labelling initiatives and emerging certification standards
- Regional policy developments in Japan and Canada
- Breakthroughs in CO₂ capture technologies, including amines, oxyfuel and large-scale pilots

Daniel Rennie, CEO of Leilac, presented how the company’s indirect heating technology is designed to deliver low-cost, high-purity CO₂ capture, while also enabling:
- Electrification and energy flexibility
- Demand-side grid balancing
- Operational efficiency through debottlenecking
Leilac’s approach reflects Calix’s broader commitment to developing practical technologies that improve industrial performance and help future-proof global industry.
We thank the CBMF and GCCA for hosting this important and timely event.
